Rebuilt in the fifteenth century on the bases of a castle built around the year Mil, with its ditches, its polygonal enclosure, its towers, its complete and completely covered walkway on machicolations, its typical gun arches, its original frame, the feudal castle of Sigournais is one of the best examples of military architecture of the Middle Ages in the Vendée. A mock-up exhibition on Middle Ages war machines.
