About the exhibition "Gardens(s)...". The garden takes many forms according to times and cultures. It is an intrinsic part of Islamic culture, heir to the Persian and Byzantine gardens. In the Bible, the garden is mentioned in the Old and New Testaments. From Genesis to Revelation, God makes a covenant with man in a garden. There is also the garden of Gethsemane and that of the Resurrection where Mary Magdalene takes Jesus for the gardener. We are all gardeners, nurturing our small piece of planet Earth that we need to take care of. Not to mention cultivating our secret garden.

After the exhibition in 2019 on the theme of “Men and Paths”, our steps lead us to the trees and invite you to take a little height! … They participate in the beauty of our bocagers landscapes, our shores and our Loire islands, our forests... At Cellier, they form avenues and parks, or solitary, they rise to the bottom of the flows. What would we be without them? The tree is life, of course, and many cultures and religions refer to it. Starting with the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden, the tree of Jesse recalling the human sonship of Jesus, without forgetting the wood of the Cross which has become a tree of life… Whether the Virgin Mary appeared in the hollow of a tree near here at the Marillais, or whether Saint Martin had a tree consecrated to the false gods cut down, as shown in one of the frescoes of the church, all this shows us how exceptional the symbolism of the tree is. And how appropriate it is to love him, to respect him and to protect him.
