Rive d'Arts - A former industrial wasteland rehabilitated in a cultural place
The Old Cinnamon Factories have deeply marked the history of the town and the memory of its inhabitants. Hundreds of employees worked during the second half of the 20th century in the manufacture of fishing articles and in particular of the famous "Lion d'Or" brand hooks. In 2008, the Municipality initiated a major rehabilitation project that led to the opening of two hubs, a Hotel-Restaurant named Les Trois Lieux and a cultural hub named Rive d'Arts.
A unique and innovative venue dedicated to creation in Maine-et-Loire, Rive d'Arts has been welcoming year-round designers to its workshops since 2016 and is a must-see in the city for its events and exhibitions. Ideally located on the banks of the Loire, the site offers the opportunity of a cultural visit to the Ligian walks. Some creators will open the doors of their workshops for presentations of their work and demonstrations. The Central Forum will host the exhibition L'Odeur du Soleil by artist Makiko Fuirichi, artist received in residence on the territory in 2022 as part of the departmental device Prendre l'Art. In this exhibition, Makiko Furuichi transforms his imagination into a solar matter where plants, forms and characters come to life in a brilliant way.
