The church is an important building of the late 15th century built in the late Gothic style.
Burned and half ruined by the Protestants, it was the subject of a complete restoration that gave it its present appearance.
If from the 14th century, the bishops of Sarlat made the castle of Issigeac one of their favorite residences, Bishop Francis II of Salignac de la Mothe-Fénélon will completely restore the church according to the principles of the liturgical reform of the 17th century.
Classified as a Historical Monument, it undergoes, after the restoration of the central nave, a rehabilitation of the south collateral.
It is decorated with a beautiful furniture of the eighteenth.
Five statues of painted and gilded wood from a large altarpiece attest to this new Baroque aesthetic linked to the Catholic Counter-Reformation: the return of gold and medieval symbolism, the processes of illusion and the scenic devices, the use of theatre and opera will allow the propagation of the faith througho
