It was in 1765 that Samuel Peixotto, a wealthy Bordeaux banker, took possession of a property, which he later remodelled into a pleasure house. He built a music pavilion at the corner of the park, as well as a French garden.
This sumptuous property, entirely dedicated to country festivals, banquets and ballets, was home to the Bordeaux bourgeoisie. The house was remodeled at the end of the 19th century. The castle is enlarged and elevated according to a neoclassical style, but still retaining some elements of the 18th century façade.
