Château de Villemonteix
Villemonteix, 23150 Saint-Pardoux-les-Cards
Castle of the XVth century, containing a rectangular flanked(thrown) main building by round towers in the angles of its west facade and, on the opposite(opposed) facade, a square tower of staircase. Two of the angles are crowned with bartizans in cantilever. A path round the battlements dominates walls and small openings in brace decorate the interval of the ravens supporting(bearing) machicolations. In the court(yard), a hexagonal well with put together(combined) panels(signs), presents a decoration of quadrilobes. A linden tercentenary and a strengthened pigeon house (XVE / XIVE century) are also visible. A dozen of rooms is present on four levels of the castle. It is possible to admire between others of the tapestries of Aubusson there models of which are of Isaac Moillon.
