The church was under the patronage of the Abbaye du Moutier d'Ahun. This building, probably towards the end of the 14th century, replaced an older church.
It consists of a single nave with a right bedside. The three bays, the last of which is choir-shaped, are covered with pointed vaults. The doublets and the ribs fall on columns with sides fixed at 2.50m on human heads. The polygonal capitals have a decoration of elongated leaves, hooks, and inverted fleur-de-lys.
The western portal, in sharp broken outline, kept only its archivolt boudins, the colonnettes having disappeared. The capitals forming frieze return to the walls. At the west end is a steeple with a frame, shingled sides and a slate spire.
Inside, restoration projects have highlighted abundant traces of painted decoration on the entire walls and, no doubt, the vault. The visible fragments appear to be dating from the late 15th or early 16th century.
