The church of Saint-Pardoux-Morterolles is located south of Bourganeuf, north-west of the Plateau de Millevaches and overlooks the forest of Clairavaux.
Its construction probably dates back to the 11th century but the building was redesigned in the 12th, 14th and 15th centuries.
This church, dedicated to Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens, brings together three remarkable architectural elements: • To the right of the entrance door is a very rare example of a baptismal swimming pool. • To the left of this door, there is a 12th-century holy-bird with the representation of the sun on one side, the moon on the other side and a small bust of Phaeton, a solar deity below. • One of the south windows of the church has the last example of diamond-shaped stained-glass windows dating back to the 19th century preserved in Creuse.
On June 16, 1926 the church was registered as a Historical Monument.
