Built by Edward III of England in 1286, the castle served as a citadel of the bastide. The walls succeed without interruption. At the corners, four round towers for the defence. From a square plan, the isolated keep stands in the center of the enclosure. According to legend, the White Queen was locked in the dungeon, where she died poisoned.
