The Château de Campagne: New research, new results with Xavier Pagazani researcher at the Inventory Service Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Large and seductive plain castle located at a short distance from the Vézère, bathed in an idyllic green setting (an arboretum park created between 1857 and 1862), Campagne is still poorly known today. Recent research, particularly those carried out since 2016 by the Regional Heritage and Inventory Service (SRPI) of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, adopting several leading-edge methods in the field (archaeology of the building, archaeometric study, dendrochronology, 3D scanner surveys) and other older (paleography of ancient texts, stylistic reading), allow today to renew the knowledge. Conference visit to present these methods and their results by Xavier Pagazani, researcher (SRPI). On Sunday, September 18 at 3:30 pm, between the two programmed vistas, the Ensemble de musique ancienne of the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental de la Dordogne, will offer a concert of early music. Renaissances dances, Telemann, Purcell, Rameau, let yourself be carried away by music from the 16th to the 18th centuries, with pieces with two or three voices, and pieces of ensemble, played by the students and teachers of the Conservatoire départemental de la Dordogne. Soprano recorders, viola, tenor, bass, cross-section and strings come together to help you discover these treasures of the past.
