Discovery of the Bastion Labadie
Guided tour from the outside of the nondenominational abbey redrawing the architectural history(story) of the set(group): abbey, church and of the village of Saint-Abit (tour(tower, ballot) 18 metres in heights)
At the end of Middle Ages and during all modern time(period), the village possesses, two nondenominational abbots, each being the owner of a church, whose boss and the protector he is. One of these had to be the old(former) church Saint-Jean-Baptiste. Indeed, this place of worship and the cemetery which surrounds it are, before the ban of catholic religion in Béarn, devoted to Saint Peter(dory). During the wars of Religion, following the decision of Jeanne d' Albret, mother of future Henry IV, to forbid Catholicism on earth of Béarn in 1570, the church of Saint-Abit is disused.
