Discovery of the town’s heritage around water and wood
On the program: guided tour on the banks of the Siron and the Garonne, discovery of the wood boiler room and the school restaurant. Aperitif, picnic and presentation of local hydrogeology with the CRES.
9h00: go to the banks of Garonne. Circuit on the banks of the Siron stream, also called Mérigon. You will discover the different trees that grow there: usages, Gascon names... But also all the elements that make up the local fauna and flora and who will be willing to let themselves be seen and heard that day. The tour will continue with the discovery of the cultivated forest of the banks of Garonne: when, how, why and by whom it was thought and created. Intervention of the CRES, the Club de Recherches et d'Explorations Souterraines (caving, geology, archaeology, biodiversity).
11h15: visit of the wood boiler room, innovative equipment that feeds the public buildings and social housing of the municipality.
11h30: presentation and inuguration of the school restaurant which has just benefited from a major energy renovation
12.30pm: picnic from the basket at the church wash-house
2.30pm: presentation on local hydrogeology and the Haya forest by members of the CRES at the church wash-house
