The camp of Gurs is between the municipalities of Gurs, Dognen and Préchacq-Josbaig, on a moor. It was built in March-April, 1939 to accommodate the Spanish republicans and the volunteers of the international brigades. At the time of French-German conflict, Gurs becomes an internment camp.
