This church already has a long history of almost a thousand years behind it! Its history is inseparable from that of Blonville-sur-Mer. Its construction more inland may seem surprising nowadays, but the population of Blonville-sur-Mer was then mostly rural and the coastal edge seemed to them inhospitable with the marsh which was much more extensive than today. In 1859, the archaeologist Arcisse de Caumont gave a precise description of the church today. It is oriented East-West, as for all churches. What seems to be the oldest are the bases of the bell tower and the choir, dating from the 11th and 13th centuries. Probably the original building occupied the current choir and bell tower. This ensemble is completed from the end of the fifteenth century by a large nave. This expansion takes place after the end of the Hundred Years War.
