On the occasion of the Matrimoine Days, the Manufacture wishes to renew its commitment to gender parity in the fields of science and digital technology. Thus, as in the previous year, she wishes to join the HF Normandie movement by participating in the enhancement and recognition of the heritage of women in the digital world and their place in our contemporary society. This day will be an opportunity to shed light on the significant contribution of women to our knowledge of digital practices. This commitment to gender parity in digital practices is part of the associative project. In fact, with a National Education accreditation, the Manufacture regularly works with schools, colleges and the University of Rouen to raise girls' and boys' awareness of scientific and technical culture. With knowledge of the too low number of girls in scientific and technical studies including digital, she wishes to report on this finding and show young girls that all the doors are open to them.
For the year 2022, the Manufacture wants to highlight a raw scientific field revolutionized only by men while women have made their mark. This is about astronomy.
Indeed, many women astronomers have made many advances in this field.
That’s why, various free activities will be offered on the day of September 17, 2022 including a coffee-conference retracing the space conquest of Valentina Terechkova to Samantha Cristoforetti hosted by a retired aerospace engineer: Alice ANGLARET, member of the association "Elles bougent Normandie".
