On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, come to discover or re-discover the Mont-Saint-Michel abbey on a free visit and access Notre-Dame-sous-Terre, a room usually closed to the public.
A device dedicated to school students as part of the operation "Look up" is also proposed on Friday, September 16.
A mecca of pilgrimage in the Middle Ages, the Benedictine abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel is one of the most remarkable examples of both religious and military architecture of medieval times.
Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and with more than 20 rooms open to visitors, this extraordinary national monument represents a prodigy of architecture with the abbey church, the cloister, the refectory, the promenoir of the monks, the Jardins de la Merveille and the western terrace overlooking the immensity of the bay.
Another alternative to visiting the abbey and attending, throughout the year, the cultural program where exceptional concerts, exhibitions, family entertainment or, at nightfall in July and August, a night walk punctuated with music and light.
