Maison Alain
75 avenue Émile-Thiebaut 78110 Le Vésinet
The philosopher Émile-Auguste Chartier (1868-1951), dit Alain, wanted to settle in the suburbs in a small house with garden. Morre-Lamblin, one of the two women who shared her life and who resided in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, found a small house, which Alain took possession of on November 13, 1917\. He remained there until his death. The modest dwelling is decorated with brick visible on the corners and window frames. Alain wrote Stendhal, Souvenirs de guerre, Histoire de mes pensées and Les propos d'un Normand. A plaque on the façade commemorates the philosopher’s memory.
