An exceptional printer from 1825 to 1879, Paul Dupont won many medals at national or universal exhibitions. Following in the footsteps of philanthropic industrialists, he founded a mutual relief fund and gave his staff a share in the profits. He was one of the first to employ women with typographical composition. He financed the purchase of land in Livry to encourage his staff to build economic houses.
