Dança em Trânsito Contemporary Dance Festival at the Brazilian Embassy
Dança em Trânsito is an international festival of contemporary dance. For its 20th edition, it will circulate in more than 30 Brazilian cities, before coming from September 12 to 18 in Paris, where it will invest several spaces, such as Le Carreau du Temple, Le Regard du Cygne, Place des Fêtes, Jacques Higelin room of the MPAA in Saint-Germain and the Brazilian embassy.
15 interventions of 8 companies are planned within the embassy as part of the programming of Heritage Days. The event presents contemporary Brazilian choreographic creation in unusual spaces usually little or no used for dance.
Dança em Trânsito will intervene on 17 and 18/9 at the embassy. On Saturday 17/9, the organizers will offer a «living showcase» of the festival, including several excerpts of shows, signed by the troupes of Marcia Milhazes and Grupo Tápias, and by the companies Corpus between Mundos, Danse du Pantanal and Nimo. The shows will be presented in their entirety on Sunday 18/09.
For this second day, the public will also discover the project “Rotas Plural”, a choreographic creation based on the encounter between the different techniques of Brazilian movements and rhythms, where contemporary dance makes the link between several styles of popular music from Brazil. This walk will be led by Flávia Tápias.
Dança em Trânsito is subsidized by Instituto Cultural Vale through the mechanism of the federal law supporting culture. The French stage of the festival also receives financial support from the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
