Created in a former mansion in the 19th century, converted for the first time into a branch of the Banque de France in the 20th century, the Citéco Museum is a prime example of «Sustainable Heritage», the theme of the 39th edition of these days.
On this occasion, the exceptional Beaurains treasure coins will be presented to the public for the first time in the vault, as will Sabine Pigalle’s "New Economy" exhibition. And the museum tour will be free! Do not hesitate to ask the mediators of the permanent exhibition if you have any questions and to test the games of the course!

The Cité de l'Économie opened its doors in June 2019\. The first museum in Europe dedicated to the economy, it offers a permanent exhibition and a rich and varied cultural program to discover the major concepts and mechanisms of the economy. His approach is playful and interactive.
It takes place in the Hotel Gaillard, an exceptional neo-Renaissance hotel built at the end of the 19th century, entirely listed as a historical monument, largely inspired by the west wing of the Château de Blois. Upon the death of Emile Gaillard, its sponsor, in 1902, the hotel went on sale. The Banque de France acquired it in 1919 to establish a branch there, active from 1922 to 2006\. The entire building has been restored and rehabilitated to accommodate Citéco in 2019.
