Dessein d'Essonne Artworks by Franck Senaud
Franck Senaud, painter, teacher and smuggler, who has been living in Essonnian for 50 years, meets locals, workers and students who are often curious about these stories and geographies specific to the Grand Crown and this department. Author and draughtsman last year of the first book drawn on the New City of Evry «City by design», he proposes today to share a recent history little known through these drawings of architectures of the Essonne.
A form to anchor. My first in-depth research tells me that there are local history books written by local scholarly societies or tourist guides showing some remarkable monuments, there are books that tell a story of international architecture, but there is no book that tells this story of between the two: that of a territory close to Paris, feeding in humans and produced the capital of the 19th century and which, by an arbitrary cut of the great suburbs, way of these times, does not follow the logic of geographical and historical territory and, by pieces, tries to modernity. Aren’t these stories the big story?» Franck Senaud
Opening on Friday, September 16 from 5pm in the presence of the artist.
