Guided tours to discover the exhibition Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September at 2:30pm (Duration:1h) An exhibition organized in the framework of the Season France-Portugal 2022, realized with the exceptional partnership of the Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea (Lisbon), the support of the Ministries of Culture of France and Portugal, the Camões Institute and the French Institute. The painter Veloso Salgado is one of the major representatives of Portuguese naturalism, distinguished several times on the international artistic scene. In 1887, a young graduate of the School of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lisbon, Veloso Salgado was awarded a State grant allowing him to join the effervescence of Parisian workshops. The four years of his French stay are punctuated by his participation in the Salon where he obtains several distinctions. At the same time as teaching at the Ecole des Beaux-arts, he drew his inspiration from the heart of Brittany but also from Wissant on the shores of Pas-de-Calais.
