Let yourself be guided in the former Teachers' Normal School, built in 1883-1885\. Its unique architecture has made it a temple of knowledge for girls, which became IUFM from 1987 to 2018.

Through a guided tour, discover the École Normale des Institutrices de la Somme. The architect wanted to create a unique site, dedicated to female knowledge. Built between 1883 and 1885, this school has welcomed generations of future teachers, responsible for the education of Samarian girls.
The site became IUFM from 1987 to 2018, and since 2020 has hosted departmental social services, as well as the MDPH.
The visit will end with a presentation of works from the art library, a departmental collection of contemporary art that will be presented in the departmental territory for small travelling exhibitions.

The Simone Veil site occupies the premises of the former Institut universitaire de formation des maîtres de Picardie (IUFM) and previously of the École normale des institutrices. This magnificent building from 1885 has been renovated and since March 2021 hosts the Departmental Administrative Centre (CAD) and the Departmental House of Disabled Persons (MDPH) of the Somme.
