Free visit of the exhibition "The Worlds of Conan Doyle"
While the informed reader readily associates Sir Arthur Conan Doyle with the character of Sherlock Holmes, the rest of his work seems to be little known. Beyond the only lazy and meticulous detective, other characters have taken shape under the pen of the author, such as Professor Challenger, the exuberant curator in comparative anthropology of the British Museum. A prolific writer, Conan Doyle develops the novel of adventures, and in particular perfects the police genre. He is also the author of science fiction books, plays, poems and historical works.
From 221B Baker Street to the depths of the Amazon rainforest, Conan Doyle has taken his readers on journeys full of unique adventures, fueled by his many interests. The exhibition Les mondes by Conan Doyle invites us to discover the one who was in turn ophthalmologist, whaler, frustrated and committed novelist, successful novelist and lover of occultism. Through installations, accumulations of objects, come and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the late nineteenth century works of the great British author.
