Picardie Horticultural Society
Founded in Amiens in 1844, the Picardie Horticultural Society moved to Rue Le Nôtre in 1892. In 1897, she called on the architect Anatole BIENAIME for the construction of her hotel where knowledge in the field she promotes will be disseminated. It brought together nearly 2,000 members who were passionate about plants and gardens. After the two world wars, the spared structure tries to survive. In order to respond to a new enthusiasm for the garden in recent years, the association strives to disseminate horticultural culture and know-how around common values such as the desire to share, respect for plants and the defense of the environment. The association, rich of a building of the late nineteenth century, seeks to highlight this heritage site under renovation. It participates for the first time in 2022 in the European Heritage Days to make itself better known.
