The members of the newly created association Notre-Dame des Mines Saint Wulgan will welcome visitors to the church. They will accompany them in their discovery of the church. The stained glass windows and furniture are the work of Pere Cholewska, monk of the Abbey of Wisques, the statue of our Lady of Mines is of the Lensois Marc Montaigne. Guided tours will be organized in the afternoon from 2pm. The relic of Saint Wulgan hermit of the sixth century will be displayed on the altar. A hike will leave at 2.30pm on Saturday to meet other places of Lens labeled Green Church.
The church is part of the sustainable heritage dimension and is labeled Green Church. Guided tour from 2pm for a duration of 45 minutes.

The church of Notre-Dame des Mines was built in 1961 by the parish priest, Abbé Frémy, with the help of the miners. They carried out the construction and their wives financed it by selling bricks of paper worth 100 Fc. 420 million centimes were collected. Pope John XXIII and Minister Maurice Schumann participated in the subscription. It is the story of this church of the miners that will be told. The church opens its doors for the first time for heritage days thanks to a dozen volunteers who have just gathered in association. A guided tour and an exhibition await the visitor.
