About the location

Église Saint-Martin
1 rue du Lieutenant Bastian, 88300 Bazoilles-sur-Meuse
  • Vosges
  • Grand Est
The church that proudly sits in the centre of the village is dedicated to Saint Martin. Originally built in the middle of the Middle Ages, it was revived from the wars at the end of the Middle Ages, in the 15th century, in a radiant Gothic style based on the old church.
Reshaped over the centuries (especially in the sixteenth century), it is above all the nineteenth century that will give it its current height. From 1851 to 1853, the Neocastrian architect Abel Mathey designed an hors d'oeuvre bell tower in the Gothic Revival style. The bell tower is high and gives a slender appearance to an interesting building whose seniority can only be guessed after detaching the look of this elegant arrow.
