Place du Château
Place du Château, 67000 Strasbourg
The limits of the Place du Château - originally the Fronhof (Corve Court) - were determined by the Bishop of Strasbourg at the beginning of the 13th century. The buildings surrounding it illustrate three crucial periods in the history of the city’s architecture.
The Cathedral and the left wing of the Oeuvre Notre-Dame (1307) bear witness to the Gothic period, the right wing 1580) of the Renaissance and the Rohan Palace is characteristic of French architecture of the eighteenth century.
