Free or guided visit of a church dedicated to Joan of Arc
Come discover a cycle of exceptional stained glass windows tracing the life of Joan of Arc de Domremy to her beatification.
The church of Sainte-Jeanne d'Arc de Lunéville is the first parish church built under the name of Jeanne d'Arc (1412-31), a figure whose memory has passed through the centuries in France and around the world. The great stages of his earthly and poshumous life are traced in his exceptional cycle of stained glass windows that exceed the great Johannine glazed ensembles known (Orléans, Domremy, Compiègne...) by the number of scenes represented and their dimensions, the quality of the drawings, the richness of the colours and the influence of the Art Nouveau of the Ecole de Nancy (floral decorations and techniques used). The church is closed apart from visits, but exceptional openings provided by the Association of Friends of Sainte-Jeanne d'Arc de Lunéville take place during the European Heritage Days on 17 and 18 September 2022.
The church will be open from 2 pm to 6 pm on both days for free tours and guided tours which will be offered at 3 pm, 4 pm and 5 pm.
