Corps de garde - Agence Inspire Metz
2 Place d'Armes, 57000 Metz

Built from 1761 to 1771 by the neoclassical architect Jacques-François Blondel, the Hotel du Corps de Garde is part of an urban development characteristic of the eighteenth century: the Place d'Armes de Metz. Louis XV had asked for the creation of a place around which all the powers would be gathered. It is thus given a representative role in the city and in the exercise of powers and consists of the Town Hall, the Gothic cathedral, this guardhouse and finally a building originally intended to serve as a Parliament.
After having changed assignments several times, the guardhouse now houses the Tourist Office of the city of Metz: the current Agency Inspire Metz.
The space dedicated to the reception of the public was completely renovated in 2012 and offers to all visitors a contemporary environment, thus echoing the modern heritage of the city.
The mission of the Inspire Metz Agency is to promote the territorial attractiveness of Metz Métropole, its heritage, its activities and essential
