Hôtel de Ville
Place Stanislas, 54035 Nancy
- Meurthe-et-Moselle
- Grand Est
In Place Stanislas, this elegant 18th-century building was designed by architect Emmanuel Héré.
Its large facade adorned with the arms of Stanislaus and the coat of arms of the city of Nancy closes the former royal square. The doors open onto a peristyle that leads to the main staircase adorned with a wrought iron railing in one piece, a true masterpiece of Jean Lamour. The staircase, whose walls are decorated with frescoes by Girardet, leads to the Salon Carré, an Italian-style salon, which precedes the Grand Salon.
The complex formed by Place Stanislas, Rue Héré and Place de la Carrière was classified as a historic monument in 1886.
