Guided tour of the exhibition «D'Ici et Ailleurs, destins croisés à Bischwiller»
Every year, the city offers temporary exhibitions in this 17th-century Alsatian house. This year, she invites you to meet your ancestors and their journeys.
The history of Alsace is more eventful than that of all the other provinces of France: 4 and a half centuries of Roman colonization, 13 centuries spent in the Germanic orbit, 3 centuries of French belonging. In turn Celtic, Gallo-Roman, German, Frankish, Germanic imperial, French royal and republican French, 17 successive changes of sovereignty, regime, nationality. Some 53 wars and invasions have swept across its soil and have bruised Alsace since the day when the chronicles retain the dates of its history.
The city of Bischwiller is no exception: it always shares the turbulent history of its territory where migration takes its full meaning.
Travel with the guide, from prehistory to the present day, and discover the routes, motivations, individual or collective lives of these migrants of yesterday and today.
