Let yourself be guided and discover a mammoth fragment discovered in Cattenom during the excavation of Rue des Peupliers carried out in 2022.

This defence was discovered in the alluvial deposits of an ancient stream tributary of the Moselle that settled at the end of the last glaciation, probably around 12,000 BC. The defense was taken from a plaster shell to protect it, now it’s time to finish cleaning and consolidating it before extracting it from the gangue. It will be possible to observe the technician working on it during visits to the House of Archaeology and Heritage.
