The French Brewery Museum opens its doors!

The visitor will be able to enjoy the temporary exhibition still in place on the brewery horse, as well as the rich collections of the museum, including art and advertising objects, including stained glass windows by Jacques Gruber.
On the Sunday of 10am to 6pm, a small-volume brewing demonstration will be held in front of the public in the museum’s pilot brewery. The brewing tower, classified as a Historical Monument since 1989, currently benefits from an important safeguard.
A visit to the museum will allow visitors to see the progress of the work, which will lead in a little over a year to restore its lustre to this building of pure art deco style. Finally, if the weather is favorable, it will be possible to access the top terrace of the brewing tower where there is a magnificent view of the Meurthe valley of the Nancy basin to the north, to the line of the Vosges to the south.

About the location

Musée Français de la Brasserie

The museum allows you to discover all the stages of the manufacture of beer in traditional brewing equipment dating (as well as the premises) from 1931\. Located in the former brewery of Saint-Nicolas-de-Port, which has been closed since 1986, the museum also maintains a large collection of posters, enamelled plates and other advertising objects from many French breweries.
The visit of the building created by the Nancy architect Fernand César allows to discover the brewing room and its magnificent copper pots, the hop room, the engine room with the huge cold compressor, the old coolers where the fermenters are next to the guard tanks and the racking equipment.
It also presents a set of Ecole de Nancy woodwork and Art Nouveau furniture as well as stained glass windows by Jacques Gruber created in 1907 for the tasting room of the Vézelise brewery.
On the facade of the brewing tower, one can observe a mosaic of J. Chriotofoli, representing the triumphant rooster, emblem of the local brewe
