Episcopal Palace formerly Hôtel du Grand Doyen.
Before the Revolution, the bishops lived in the palace rebuilt by the first Cardinal of Rohan in the 18th century. In 1803, it was planned to assign the former Hôtel du Grand Doyen to the lodging of the bishop concordataire, which required the State to buy it from the innkeeper Busch. In 1855, Monsignor Raess took his quarters in the former Hotel du Grand Doyen and since then, all his successors have resided there, to this day. This city hotel, between courtyard and garden, has a large staircase that constitutes the main masterpiece of the construction. It is likely that the sculptor Laurent Leprince sculpted the pediments of the two facades, which are strictly identical, with horns of abundance. We still admire the symmetry of the facades, with the windows with small tiles and the ironwork that decorate them.
