The first building was built on the site of the present town hall in 1537\. The building was rebuilt in the 17th century with elegant decoration panelled in carved oak. This house was acquired in 1804 by the municipality and served as a sub-prefecture, then as a town hall. In 1904, the architect Hannig built a neo-Renaissance facade. The services of the Town Hall have also integrated the neighbouring Katz House, whose 17th-century carved wood panel is one of the most remarkable in the canton of Saverne.
