The Departmental Archives team invites visitors to discover the heritage riches of the Ardennes preserved for more than 200 years by the custodian of the history of the department.

Since 1796, the Departmental Archives have preserved the written heritage of the Ardennes, from the oldest document dating from 997 to the records kept by contemporary public administrations supplemented by the archives of private origin. More than 1000 years and nearly 17 linear kilometres of archives are to be discovered.
Visitors will be offered a route within the conservation spaces usually inaccessible to the public, an exhibition of original documents presenting all the diversity of the holdings preserved as well as workshops discovered around genealogy and research in the archives for children and adults.
