The Palace of the Government, built between 1751 and 1753 by Emmanuel Héré, establishes(constitutes) the architectural counterpart of the town hall which it faces. He(It) joins remarkable prospect(perspective) between the place(square) (old(former) Stanislas Royal place(square)) and the place(square) of Career(Quarry). During the reign of the duke Stanislas, king of Poland and father-in-law(stepfather) of Louis XV, he received the residence of the representative of France in Lorraine. He(It) represents the entrance(entry) of the Lorraine to the kingdom of France.
