The church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste was declared a historical monument in 1986\. It is dated for its apse and its bell tower of the twelfth century, the sixteenth century for its transept, and the nave was remodeled in the eighteenth century.
It was founded following the priory established by Saint Adérald who brought back a piece of the tomb of Christ and set up a priory of the order of Cluny in the 11th century. Named Samblières before this event, at the arrival of the tomb, the village opted for Saint-Sépulcre. In 1673, the village changed to Villacerf.
Its 16th-century glass windows are listed as historical monuments, as well as a dozen pieces of furniture. The church retains an altarpiece and tabernacle with an oil on canvas in its center also classified representing a virgin to the child accompanied by Saint John the Baptist and Saint Elizabeth, all dated of the eighteenth.
