Chapelle Sainte-Anne
2 Vieux Chemin de Sélestat, 67730 Châtenois
This chapel is located in the cemetery at the corner of Old Chemin de Sélestat and Rue de la Première Armée.
The chapel was built in 1698 by Marie Engel, wife of bailiff Georges Burst. At that time it was isolated. Mentioned as an oratory in 1750, it bears the name of Chapelle Sainte-Anne following the destruction of the first chapel near the station since at least 1734\.
In 1854, the municipality decided to move the cemetery, formerly around the church, to a plot close to the chapel and whose development led it to surround this chapel. The chapel was restored in 1921 and 2002\. A witness of 18th century exterior painting has been preserved at the back of this rectangular building. Built of pink sandstone and lit by two arched windows, it is covered with a roof with long sides and rump, topped by a wooden bell tower.
It was restored in 2002 by the class 1937.
