On April 24, 1848, by 11 votes against one and a white ballot, the Municipal Council voted to build a wheat market 34 meters long and 19 meters wide surmounted in the central part, facing the road, of two floors: the first intended for the offices of the Town Hall, the second, Justice of Peace.
