In 2021 and 2022, the association Alysses, accompanied by 23 classes from kindergarten to BTS, carried out an experiment: the establishment of an ephemeral garden on the main square of the city.

During these days, discover plantations, artistic works, the diagnostic approach carried out, fictional proposals for the development of the Place du Château and performances.
An exhibition consisting of photos and texts relating to the experience will be installed from September 17 to October 9, 2022 in the garden.
It is a way of presenting publicly a first assessment of this great participatory experience.

The square was built in the 19th century on the site of the former castle of the counts of Hanau-Lichtenberg and its moat. It is confined by the former outbuildings and administrative buildings (chapel, grain hall, chancery) and by the school, more recent (1884). Some urban spaces, others planted with trees occupy the intervals. One of them, present hospital park, is a fragment of the former castle park.
