Le Selhof
Rue de Boersch, 67210 Obernai
Once the Selhof, surrounded by a wall comprising the old church and the cemetery, was the court of justice of the abbeys of Hohenbourg and Niedermunster.
In the Middle Ages, under a large lime tree surrounded by stone seats, the provost presiding over the court that judged the nobility of Obernai and the surrounding area. The Selhof was also sometimes the scene of the annual swearing in of the Obernai (Schwörtag) bourgeoisie.
A few steps away is the cemetery chapel built in 1696, backed by the sculptural monument of the Mount of Olives, built in 1517 above a semi-buried crypt.
