Ermitage de Notre-Dame de Bermont
L'Ermitage de Notre-Dame de Bermont, 88630 Greux
The Bermont chapel was built in the 11th century with a predominant Gothic style. In 1998, it was inscribed as a Historic Monument, after the discovery of 15th-century mural paintings in the Hermitage Choir representing Joan of Arc.
The municipality of Greux is located to the west of the department of Vosges, bordering with that of the Meuse. It adjoins the town of Domrémy-la-Pucelle, the birthplace of Jeanne d'Arc, and shares – as a mother parish at the time – the story of this national heroine.
