Located facing portal(gate) of the church Saint-Pantaléon, the Hotel of Vauluisant is one of the rare stone buildings of the city of Troy. He(It) presents a rich facade typical of architecture Renaissance, with his(its) decoration(set) of front walls(pediments), cartouches(cartridges), cherubs, garlands. Two turrets frame(supervise) this detached house(flag) the 16th century, from which the one shelters a staircase with screw. The conical roofs are adorned with elegant ears of ridgepole topped with a sun and with a moon. He(It) is built in the location of a convent which depended on the cistercienne abbey on Vauluisant (Yonne) in the 12th century. In 1524, this house is destroyed by the fire which devastates a lot of the city of Troy. By 1550, Antoine Hennequin builds the detached house(flag) with turrets. The body of the building(ship) in return for carpenter's square is raised(brought up) to the 17th century by the famous family Mesgrigny which leaves the building(ship) in 1826\. During many years, it is the seat(siege) of the Trojan Great circle which organises balls and other festivities there. Having bought by the City of Troy in 1932 to make a decorative, secondary art museum of the museum of Fine Arts, he shelters currently collections evoking art champenois of the 16th century and the history(story) of the hosiery.
