Historical contribution and project of digitization of the Chronicle of Giovanni della Grossa
Giovanni della Grossa is the first author to trace the history of the island from the mythical origins until the time when he lived (1388-1464).
Notary and public officer for nearly fifty years, his duties have led him to evolve both on the Corsican territory and outside the island borders, which makes its testimony indispensable for the history of Corsica in the face of the weakness of the written sources of the island before the second half of the fifteenth century.
His chronicle has sparked a "sustainable heritage conservation project" thanks to the digitization of his work by the end of 2022 by the University of Corsica (UMR 6240 LISA), with many hypertext links that will make it possible to integrate in a sustainable way the scientific advances on the Middle Ages of Corsica.
