Couvent des Augustins - Hôtel de ville

Founded in the fourteenth century, the convent of the Augustinians was completely transformed in the seventeenth century: its sober buildings, with vaulted rooms on the ground floor, shelter the premises of the current town hall, while the church became hall of the feasts. After its purchase as a national property by the municipality in 1792, it was used for many administrative purposes. In 1825 the town hall was attached to it, with the facade of neoclassical spirit, representative of the administrative constructions of the early 19th and the desire of Mayor Pierre Collin de Souvigny to seat the municipal power.
