Église Saint-Martin
Rue Saint Martin 18800 Baugy
The origin of this church dates back to the 11th or the 12th century. The nave is rectangular, and the narrower choir probably ended in a circular apse. To the south is a beautiful door, today walled. A reshuffle took place in the 15th century, which consisted in the demolition of the choir and its replacement by a larger choir with polygonal bedside (with double arch with a rather rare profile). In 1496 are created the chapels (the one of the South is that of the family of Bar). The bell tower is added in the sixteenth century. To see: the stained glass windows of the Jurie workshop in Bourges and the Chaufour workshop. The slabs and funeral inscriptions of the Bar family and the altarpieces classified MH.
