Benedictine female abbey Notre Dame de Bellavaux implanted in 620 by a disciple of Saint-Colomban, it is rebuilt at the beginning of the 11th century then in the 15th century, a conventual building will be added at the end of the 17th century by the abbess Renée de Mesgrigny. Sold as a national property during the Revolution, it served as a stone quarry. Apart from the convent building and the narthex, remnant of the apse, it remains a landscaped space that justifies its original name.
Private properties, the owners have given us their agreement for an exceptional visit of the exteriors.

Abbey of nuns founded around 620 by the venerable Theodulphe, nicknamed Bobolène, under the rule of Saint Columban, which was later replaced by the Benedictine rule. From 1113 to 1120, Archbishop Léger replaced the nuns with regular canons. In 1503, the abbey was affiliated with the congregation of Chezal-Benoît. It was in full decadence when it was restored in 1677 by Renée de Mesgrigny. The abbey was closed in the eighteenth century (last abbess named in 1715)
