Before going down into the crypt, you can enjoy the frescoes of the choir dating from the same period, and visit the church freely. Photographs without flash are possible in the church but not in the crypt (even without flash).
Please note that the number of people is limited to 12 in the crypt, and it is not possible to make reservations before or during the Heritage Days. However, the church and the crypt can be visited almost all year round, more information on our site: www.communedetavant.fr

The church St Nicholas' Day, listed(classified) in 1908 in conformance with(for) Historic monuments, possesses set(group) of frescoes in the chorus(choir), rediscovered under a coating of plaster in 1945-1946 and restored in 1994\. In central position a Christ in glory accompanied with angels' stream sits enthroned, then on the vault is visible a part(party) of the cycle of the childhood of the Christ. It is especially famous all over the world, for its crypt, rediscovered by 1862, she made the object of several restorations(caterings), which the last campaign(countryside) dates of 2012\. The crypt would be posterior in the building and date the beginning of the XIIth century. 27 Romance frescoes of the crypt make particularly the fame of Tavant, for the animation of lines(features), fruit of a big(great) speed of execution.
